The Cottage Look

My sun room is getting more girly by the day. It is turning into a room that just makes me happy. It has all the pretty things. The rest of the family seems fine with it so I am having fun giving it a sort of cottage look. It is now all about me in there.

I remembered this painted window that I bought about 10 years ago on Ebay. It used to our in our kitchen in my pink kitchen days--and moved to our pink bedroom after that. Now I think it looks good in "my room". Wyatt doesn't understand why I would have something that said "Bed and Breakfast" in a room with no bed or breakfast. I told him to just go with it:)

I bought a few things from this same lady on Ebay. One of the other things I brought into this room too.

I have always loved cherubs so what drew me to this piece was the painted cherubs and the cherub applique.

I enjoy having a place for these again.

I thought I would share a photo of Wyatt helping me with the 1:30 am feeding last night. The kittens are starting to eat on their own...but they prefer the bottle. I am getting really anxious for them to become independent. Poor Wyatt looks exhausted too!

Today was such a beautiful day! I got some weeding done...some painting done. Wish I would have gotten more done. I always wish there were more hours in the day!

My Peonies are just about done. The season seems so short! I am so going to miss these beautiful flowers.

Another beautiful day in the neighborhood!

Thanks for visiting!

Sandy, this window is perfect for your sunroom! I love it; it's gorgeous! You found some amazing treasures on Ebay! Your flowers are also lovely! Your peonies are spectacular! The baby kittens are truly a labor of love! Wow, 1:30am! You have done an awesome job raising these kittens! Wyatt does look a little sleepy, but all of you will have stars in your crowns in Heaven! The kittens are adorable!

Hi Sandy,
The painted window is beautiful! Love all your "me" touches :-) Sweet little kittens... I did this once when I was a teenager, for kittens too, I'll never forget it, it was amazing and exhausting!
Happy Monday to you :-)

Hi Sandy!

Everything about that room screams YOU. Those painted mirrors are perfect for that room. I absolutely just love all of it! I am also so jealous!

I almost made our casita (tiny guest house that is a bedroom and full bath)into my little cottage sanctuary but it has the family room furniture from the old house :( So that means plaid (yes I said plaid) furniture and it even includes the BIGGEST, ugliest, gold chenille recliner ever! No one ever goes out there...

Your Peonies are so pretty and the white picket fence is my favorite feature of your front yard.

Your house has a wonderful happy aura that anyone just driving by must feel.

That frame is very beautiful. I love old windows that have been painted like that and used to make them myself, but never figured out how to use them in my house.

I know you will be thrilled when these feedings are over with. We hand raised two dachshund puppies my grandmother had. I literally would stay up all night to feed them so my Mom could get some sleep, and she would take them all day. I was thrilled when the puppies didn't need to be fed every 2 hours. Well except they were on their regular schedule and would wake up at 2 and 4am wanting to run all over the room.

That was one of those things when it wasn't so funny then, but it is now. Looks like your kittens are well taken care of and loved.

Hi Sandy :) Love the window and the 2nd piece by this very gifted artist!, Beautiful flowers; especially the Peonies!

You asked about how I make my ruffles ~ I use a gathering foot on my Singer Basic ~ I do have a ruffler attachment, but I can't get it to work on this sewing machine or my Singer Advance (makes all the lights light up!) and won't work. Oh well :) What sewing machine do you use your Ruffler on?

Maybe someone will invent an ever-blooming peony. Like those hydrangea's that bloom all summer long.
